can acid reflux cause nasal congestion
Marj, from what i have read, nasal congestion is a symptom of lpr, because the acid relux extends past the upper esophageal sphincter into the upper airways, affecting nasal mucous (the acid may cause inflammation of nasal lining leading to nasal congestion, post nasal drip and runny nose). Acid controlling medications don’t treat the cause of acid reflux, they just reduce stomach acid. the only way to stop acid reflux completely is to correct the weakness in the les with reflux surgery. if you’re interested in learning more about how surgery can solve your acid reflux, contact dr. malladi today..
